Get a West Lincoln Public Library Card

A West Lincoln Public Library card is free for everyone!

Visit any branch to get started — your card opens is a portal to books, movies, music, digital resources, and so much more.

Adults and Teens (16+)

Just bring one piece of government issued ID that shows your name and current address (e.g., driver’s licence, Ontario photo card, health card with address), or an one piece of government issued ID and mail with your name and address.

Children and Teens (Age 16 and Under)

A parent or guardian must be present for children to get a library card, confirmation of name and address are required. Parents/guardians are responsible for items borrowed on their child’s card.

Card Types

Standard Borrowing Card

This card renews annually and allows you access to all our physical and digital resources. You must visit the library with a piece of government issued ID once a year to renew your account.

Digital Resources Card

This card renews every two years and allows access only to our digital resources. Once the card is set up with a piece of government issued ID in person, it can be renewed over the phone. It cannot be used to borrow any physical materials from the library, but can be switched to an Standard Borrowing Card by visiting any WLPL branch with a piece of government issued ID and confirmation of your address.

What You Can Do With Your Library Card

Your library card gives you access to:

Borrowing Information

  • Up to 99 items per card
  • 21-day loan period for books
  • 7-day loan period for DVDs, video games, magazines, and special collections
  • 3 renewals (unless requested by another borrower)
  • No overdue fines on traditional materials

Lost Library Card

Report a lost card

If your card has been lost or stolen, please report it immediately. You are responisble for items borrowed with your card up until the time of notification.

Please note: If you find your card after reporting it lost and have not yet been issued a new card, contact staff to have them reinstate the original card for you. If you have been issued a new card, your original card is no longer valid.

How to get a new card

To replace a lost or damaged card, you will need to bring acceptable name and current address identification on your next visit to the library. It costs $2.00 to replace your card. It will cost $3.00 to replace your card as of January 1, 2026
