Feature your work on our Art Cube in Smithville from December-February. Apply to be our next artist by visiting westlincolnlibrary.ca/art.html and submitting the online form.

Letters to Santa

Starting November 3 write a letter to Santa and drop it off at any of our library locations. Mailing deadline is December 8. In partnership with Canada Post.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten - All Branches

Ongoing
Attention parents and caregivers: join this growing movement to read every child 1,000 books before kindergarten. Reading 20 books per month to your infant/toddler/child teaches vocabulary, introduces the connection between pictures and words and creates lasting bonds. Register at any branch to begin your journey. We‘ll keep a log of the number of books read and offer incentives along the way.

Yes Uke Can - Caistorville Branch

Saturdays - 11:00am; November 1 to December 20 (except November 29)
Bring your ukulele or borrow one and jam out with friends (new and old) in a non-instructional ukulele jam session. Recommended for ages 6-10. Registration required. Space is limited.

LEGO Club - Wellandport Branch

Saturdays - 1:30pm; November 1 - December 20
Welcome to Lego Club! We invite you to come and have fun while being creative. We’ll tackle a new build theme every month and work together to make our projects come to life. November’s build theme is Zoom Zoom! and in December we’ll be focused on Christmas designs. Recommended for ages 8 to 12. Registration required.

Music & Movement Storytime - Smithville Branch

A 6-week story time program for toddlers

that incorporates movement games alongside early literacy to help develop better physical awareness, improve gross and fine motor skills and learn how to navigate social movement relationships. Recommended for ages 3 to 5. Registration required.

Noon Year’s Eve Party - Smithville Branch

5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Happy Noon Year! Stop by for a casual, kid-friendly new year’s eve party that includes snacks, party games, silly photos and crafts. Recommended for ages 5-9. Drop-in.

Teen Art Attack - Caistorville Branch

A monthly art program just for teens. In November we’ll be using stencils and fabric paint to create custom t-shirts and in December we’ll be making open-faced holiday ornaments. Recommended for teens ages 13 to 17. Registration required.

November 20 is Trans Remembrance Day and to honour the memory of those who lost their lives to acts of anti-trans violence we will have our button maker out all day for you to make a PRIDE button in show of support. Drop-in.

Ever wondered how you can make all those interesting crafts and home projects you see on your Pinterest boards? Come try your hand at fun, beginner-friendly crafts! In November we will be making felt poppy pins and in December we’ll be creating paper pinecone ornaments for the tree. Registration required.

Warhammer Alliance - Smithville Branch

Allies unite! Warhammer is a tabletop miniature wargame with a medieval fantasy theme where the outcomes of fights are determined by a combination of dice rolls and simple arithmetic. Paint your own models and learn how to play the game with friends. Registration required.

Christmas Craft Series - Multiple Locations

Get ready for the holidays in this 3 week crafting series leading up to Christmas. We’ll start by making needle felt ornaments (Caistorville), follow it up with Christmas candles (Wellandport) and finish off with custom ugly Christmas sweatshirts (Smithville). Registration required.

Murder Mystery Dinner - Smithville Branch

Friday December 19 - 4:30pm
Join us for the ultimate immersive literary event! With a few of your most adventurous friends, you can become a character in this dramatic whodunnit story, set on the Polar Express. Dinner and refreshments will be provided. Cost is $20 per person (cash only). Non-refundable.

Who are the Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library are passionate about library services and help to advocate, fundraise, and support the West Lincoln Public Library.

Membership

Join and support Friends of the West Lincoln Public Library with an annual membership. We are currently accepting new members for all Executive and Supportive role positions.

Annual membership fee is $10.00 for the first year.
Meetings will take place monthly starting on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm in the Smithville Board Room.
