TD Summer Reading Club - All Branches

The TD Summer Reading Club is back! Everyone between the ages of 0-17 can visit any library branch this summer to register and receive their TD Summer Reading booklet. Take part in fun weekly programs that explore science, art, reading and technology. This year‘s reading theme is "Around the World"!

Crafting Around the World - Caistorville Branch

Saturdays - 1:30pm; July 5 to August 25
Travel around the world with 8 geographically themed crafts! We’ll explore a new country every week and make a traditional craft that highlights its unique culture. Recommended for ages 6 to 10. Registration required.

S.T.E.A.M. Team - Smithville Branch

Alternating Mondays - 6:00pm; July 14 to August 25
In each travel-themed session we’ll tackle a new project covering one or more of the STEAM principles and turn theory into action. Recommended for ages 8 to 12. Registration required.

Comic Book Club - Smithville Branch

Do you love Dog-Man? Babysitters Club? Learn how to make your own comic in this six-week series where we put pen to paper to bring your story ideas to life! I Belong: Can I Play? - Smithville Branch

Meet author Michael Jacques. At a young age Michael was diagnosed with Autism and an intellectual disability, but that never stood in his way! In this exclusive story time we will read Michael’s picture book, I Belong: Can I Play?, and hear experiences from Michael’s life that will help kids understand acceptance and belonging. A monthly kid-friendly tech literacy program featuring our MakerSpace and GamerSpace equipment. Learn how to use the 3D Printer, Cricut Maker 3, VR headsets and more to create out of this world projects! Recommended for ages 8 to 12. Registration required.

Calling all Paladins, Warlocks, Druids and Barbarians! Come to the library Friday afternoons and begin your fantasy adventure. Materials provided. Recommended for teens ages 13 to 17. Registration required.

Vibe Tribe - Caistorville Branch

Wednesdays - 6:00pm; July 9 to September 24 (except September 3)
Join the vibe tribe and just chill. Watch videos, eat snacks, fool around with our gaming tech, play card games and make new friends in a tween-friendly space. Recommended for tweens ages 10 to 13. Drop in.

Summer Sweets - Smithville Branch

Thursdays - 2:00pm; July 31 to August 28
Summer Baking teaches tweens basic baking skills while making a new, fun and tasty treat each month. In July we’ll be baking cherry pull-apart bread and August’s recipe will have tweens making no bake banana cream pie. Baking program will resume in October. Recommended for tweens ages 10 to 13. Registration required.

Warhammer Alliance - Wellandport Branch

Tuesdays - 6:00pm; July 15 to August 19
Warriors unite! Warhammer is a tabletop miniature wargame with a medieval fantasy theme where the outcomes of fights are determined by dice rolls. Paint custom models and learn how to play the game with friends. Recommended for ages 10-13. Registration required.

Sculpting Nature - Smithville Branch

The Cookbook Clique - Smithville Branch

Saturdays - 2:00pm; July 16, August 23 & September 20
Have a passion for food? Join the clique! Using a different cookbook every month we’ll challenge ourselves to make something new. In July we’ll be making koshary with red lentil ragù from Eat, Habibi, Eat! by Shahir Massoud. In August we’ll be making gulab jamuns (milk-based doughnuts) from New Indian Basics by Preena and Arvinda Chauhan, and in September we’ll be making garlic butter mushroom stuffed chicken from the IPM cookbook, From Our Farm to Your Table. Registration required. Cost is $10 per person, per program (cash only). Please bring a reusable container large enough to fit two servings.
