1000 Books Before Kindergarten - All Branches
Ongoing
Attention parents and caregivers: join this growing movement to read every child 1,000 books before kindergarten. Reading 20 books per month to your infant/toddler/child teaches vocabulary, introduces the connection between pictures and words and creates lasting bonds. Register at any branch to begin your journey. We‘ll keep a log of the number of books read and offer incentives along the way.

Join us for baby time! Enjoy playtime, stories, and crafts in a fun, interactive setting that supports your baby’s early learning. Recommended for ages 6 mos. to 23 mos. Registration required.
Music & Movement Storytime - Smithville Branch

A 6-week story time program for toddlers that incorporates movement games alongside early literacy to help develop better physical awareness, improve gross and fine motor skills and learn how to navigate social movement relationships. Recommended for ages 3 to 5. Drop-in.

Bring your ukulele or borrow one and jam out with friends (new and old) in a non-instructional ukulele jam session. Recommended for ages 6-10. Registration required. Space is limited.

A monthly kid-friendly tech literacy program featuring our MakerSpace and GamerSpace equipment. Learn how to use the 3D Printer, Cricut Maker 3, VR headsets and more to create out of this world projects! Recommended for ages 8 to 12. Registration required.

Allies unite! Warhammer is a tabletop miniature wargame with a medieval fantasy theme where the outcomes of fights are determined by a combination of dice rolls and simple arithmetic. Paint your own custom models and learn how to play the game with friends. Recommended for tweens ages 10-13. Registration required.
Pokémon TCG Meetup - Caistorville Branch

Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW) is an annual event held in October to raise awareness of the vital role libraries play in the community. In 2025, OPLW takes place from October 19 to October 25, with the theme "Libraries For Life / Biblios pour la vie". This week is dedicated to celebrating the contributions of public libraries and encouraging community engagement with library services.
