How It Works

Curbside Pickup

  1. Request items by contacting library staff;
    • By phone during library hours: 905-692-4290 (Caistorville); 905-957-3756 (Smithville); 905-386-6792 (Wellandport)
    • By email:
    • Via Facebook Messenger: @WLPLibrary
    or placing a hold in our online catalogue; make sure your pickup library is set to the branch at which you book and appointment
  2. Contact the library to book a time for pickup
  3. When you arrive to pick up your reserved items, please call the library and staff will bring your items out to you.
  4. If in a car:
    • Open your trunk, wait in car with library card for staff to deliver items & confirm ID through window
  5. If on foot:
    • Place library card on provided table outside library and step back 6 feet
    • Staff will check card and place items on table for pickup
    • Wait until staff retuns to the building for pickup.
  6. You must have the card with which you placed holds to pick up items.

Curbside Pickup (by appointment only):

Tuesday - 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday & Thursday - 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Friday & Saturday - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

CLOSED - Monday & Sunday

Hours of Service - Smithville Branch

Curbside Pickup (by appointment only):

Monday & Friday - 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tuesday to Thursday & Saturday - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

CLOSED: Sunday

Hours of Service - Wellandport Branch

Curbside Pickup (by appointment only):

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday & Saturday - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

CLOSED: Friday & Sunday

Frequently Asked Questions

Can patrons return materials?
Yes, only through the book drop slot.
I returned my items, why are they still on my card?
All returned items are quarantined for 120 hours. If you have returned the item in the book drop recently it will be taken off your card as soon as it's quarantine ends, with no penalty.

Note: Items that are available and at your pickup branch will be pulled before appointment times. Holds can be placed on unavailable items, but they may not be available for pickup at booked times.
