Welcome Back Sarah!
Programming Supervisor Sarah McCarthy has returned from her maternity leave with a plethora of new programming projects and innovative ideas on how to improve service. We are happy to have her back and are inspired by the talent and hard work that she brings to West Lincoln.
Volunteer Courier
West Lincoln Library is excited to announce the addition of a volunteer courier to our amazing library team! Vesta will be transiting materials between branches twice a week. Her hard work means your holds will get to you faster. Welcome, Vesta.
Gaming at the Library
West Lincoln Library offers so much more than just books! Visit Smithville or Caistorville Branches and try out our Oculus Quest 2. Stay in Smithville and play our Nintendo Switch on a large screen TV. Can’t stay but still want to play? Take one or more of our Nintendo Switch games home with you using your valid library card! Don’t have a Nintendo Switch? PlayStation and Xbox games are only a hold away. Ask us how to get access to your favourite games.

Seedy Saturday
A fun, inexpensive event where you can meet up with the West Lincoln Library Seed Savers Club at the Grimsby Library on Saturday February 10 from 11am to 3pm to exchange seeds and seed saving knowledge at this annual, national event.
Good Food Box
Place your orders for fresh and affordable boxes of produce, either in person at Smithville Branch (cash only) or online at linksforgreenerlearning.org. The deadline for orders is January 10 and February 7, with deliveries being made to Smithville Branch on January 17 and February 14. Please wait to be called by Library staff before coming in to pick up your order to ensure that it’s ready.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten - All Branches
Ongoing
Attention parents and caregivers: join this growing movement to read every child 1,000 books before kindergarten. Reading to your infant/toddler/child teaches vocabulary, introduces the connection between pictures and words and creates lasting bonds. Register at any Branch to begin your journey. We‘ll keep a log of the number of books read and offer incentives along the way.
Afterschool Arts & Crafting - Smithville Branch

A 45 minute-long 6 week program for children to explore the world of art and crafting. Recommended for children ages 6 to 10. Registration required.

Visit any WLPL Branch during Freedom to Read Week and receive a ballot for every banned or challenged book you read. Pick up a Banned Book Bingo sheet and read a line of banned or challenged books to increase your chances to win! Bingo sheets will be available January 15th at all three Branches.
