1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Ongoing
Attention parents and caregivers: join this growing movement to read every child 1,000 books before kindergarten. Reading to your infant/toddler/child teaches vocabulary, introduces the connection between pictures and words and creates lasting bonds. Register at any Branch to begin your journey. We‘ll keep a log of the number of books read and offer incentives along the way.
Tracking sheets will be provided at the library upon registration. If you have lost pages or prefer to print your own sheets, you can download our 1000 Books Tracking Sheets (PDF, 50.7MB) from home or join our online Storygraph Challenge (please note, we can't directly see what you enter on Storygraph, it's just for your tracking purposes).
